History
Founded in 1976, Group Concepts is a third generation family business. The founder, Bill Ramirez, was a man dedicated to service. He was industrious and like many of his colleagues in the 1970s, he believed that being a volunteer for an industry association was the best way to further his trade. Bill eventually gave up his mobile catering business to start an association management company in order to help the mobile catering industry as a whole.
Bill passed away in 1982 and was succeeded by his son, Kelly Ramirez. Upon Bill’s passing, Kelly had to jump in to action and figure out exactly what an association management company was! He grew the company by working with associations in the catering, design, manufacturing, and transportation industries. Kelly owned and operated the company until his retirement in 2012. After 10 years of working in the company his daughter, Andrea Messina, purchased the company and is now the Owner and President. Kelly passed away in 2014 and Andrea continues to honor the core values her grandfather and father instilled in the company throughout the last forty years.
